21st Century Rehab was recently awarded the Greene County School District’s sports medicine coverage contract for the upcoming school year.  21st Century Rehab has had the contract since 2016.  Deb Morton, 21st Century Rehab director, noted, “We are proud to be involved in the local community by supporting the health and well-being of our student athletes.”

As was the case last year, the contract includes athletic coverage with a certified athletic trainer/physical therapist in attendance at home and away varsity football games and home JV football games.  The contract also covers all other home varsity sports – volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, track and soccer.  It covers one home cross-country meet, and home middle school football games and wrestling meets.

New to the contract this year is JV away football games, home and away freshman football games, and home middle school girls and boys track meets, which is an estimated twenty additional events.  21st Century Rehab, in partnership with Greene County Medical Center, also recently purchased two new taping tables for the school’s training room.

21st Century Rehab will continue offering their concussion prevention program by conducting pre-participation concussion baseline screenings on all fall athletes starting August 6, 2018.  They will also be conducting baseline concussion testing for incoming 7th grade football players, freshman and junior athletes, and any athlete going out for a sport for the first time.  Morton said, “Because of a generous donation, we can continue to provide these preventative services in cooperation with the Greene County Youth Athletic Association. We will continue to provide baseline concussion testing for the youth football program as well.”

Morton reminds athletes and their families that “21st Century Rehab provides free first visits for any sports-related injury for any student athlete of Greene County.”  She continued, “It is our mission to provide quality and professional healthcare for our athletic teams.”
