Erickson Receives Patriot Award from Department of Defense

Acute Nursing Director Ann Erickson was recently presented with the Patriot Award from the Iowa Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense.  

Erickson was nominated by Aaron Chalstrom, Acute nurse at Greene County Medical Center and a captain in the Air Force Reserve.  

The Patriot Award was created to publicly recognize individuals and companies who provide outstanding support and cooperation to employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve.  In his nomination, Chalstrom noted, “When I have to miss work for drills, or am asked short notice to deploy, it is often challenging for my employer to find someone to cover my job.  Time and again, my supervisor, Ann, has accommodated my needs with the military with support.”  

ESGR member Jeff Kathman came to the medical center to present Erickson with the award.
