Greene County Medical Center has named Greene County Family Medicine Clinic provider, Dr. Laurie Connolly, a 19 year resident of Greene County, as the organization’s new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Connolly will continue seeing patients in the Greene County Family Medicine Clinic two days a week with the balance of her time serving as part-time CMO for Greene County Medical Center. An instrumental piece in the success of this role is a practicing physician on-site in Jefferson.

CMO duties include bridging clinical and administrative perspectives on medical services, participating in provider recruitment, evaluating and ensuring quality care for patients, reviewing and revising policies and analyzing changing technological and clinical practices for implementation at the Medical Center.

Connolly commented, “I am very passionate about healthcare in Greene County having lived here for 19 years. I want to continue providing patient-centered care in this community and make sure we are meeting its healthcare needs.”

Connolly has a diverse medical background through her experience in family medicine, hospital emergency department work and urgent care. She has worked in the Greene County Family Medicine Clinic since May 2019.

Current CMO Dr. Michael Line commented, “Dr. Connolly is a natural leader. She is a well-respected physician and understands the health care needs of this community. She will work diligently to ensure those needs are met, making her a great fit for this position.”

Dr. Line will begin transitioning Dr. Connolly into the CMO role on February 1. Dr. Line’s last day at Greene County Medical Center will be March 1.
