Medical Center Hosts Community Lunch-n-Learn
by Greene County Medical Center - February 12, 2018
Greene County Medical Center is hosting a community lunch-n-learn event on Thursday, February 15, from 12:15 – 1 p.m. in the medical center’s education classroom. Cardiologist Dr. Craig Stark will be speaking on “New Treatments for High Cholesterol.” A sack lunch is included.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 78 million adults have cholesterol levels that put them at risk for heart disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S. There are no symptoms for high cholesterol, but a simple blood test can confirm cholesterol levels, which are treatable with medication and diet.
Stark is affiliated with UnityPoint Clinic – Cardiology in Des Moines. Each month, he holds a clinic at Greene County Medical Center on the first and third Thursdays.
