Medical Center Moment - April 2018
It is always an honor in April to host the survivor reception at Greene County’s Relay for Life. Last Saturday, we recogized over 40 survivors with “super survivor” t-shirts and honored both survivors and caregivers at a very uplifting event.
Ever Greene Ridge, the independent living community owned and operated by the medical center’s Foundation, is hosting the Greene County Chamber’s Java & Juice on Friday, May 4, at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome. This will be an ideal time for the public to see this wonderful facilty.
On May 6, in Des Moines, Jessica Brown, chemotherapy services nurse, will be recognized as one of 100 Great Iowa Nurses for 2018. She is well-deserving of this honor.
Our next DAISY award ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m. This is a great event sharing the impact our nurses have on co-workers, patients and family members. While it is too late for nominations for this ceremony, another event will take place in the fall and nominations are accepted all year.
Being part of the community by hosting public events, or by inviting the public to help us honor and recognize exceptional staff members, is all part of fulfilling our mission, “To enrich our community by providing quality, compassionate care to every patient and contributing to the well-being of every family.”
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for you and those you love.
Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
