Medical Center Moment - December 2015
Happy New Year!
As I reflect back on all that has happened at the medical center in 2015, my list is long: completed the 52,000-square-foot expansion area; began work on the interior renovations that will be completed in 2016; welcomed UnityPoint Clinic to our campus; added five new visiting specialists (cardiology, pulmonology/sleep medicine, oncology/hematology, ENT and urology); started chemotherapy services; were named one of the Des Moines Register’s Top 150 Iowa Workplaces; and implemented numerous other patient-centered enhancements throughout the medical center.
I am committed to making 2016 the year the medical center continues to increase access, efficiencies and privacy. All that we do is centered around you — our patient.
We start the year off right by welcoming podiatrist Dr. Timothy Holcomb to the West Central Orthopedics clinic. He will hold clinic hours twice a week and also perform surgery at the medical center. Full-time podiatry care has been a much needed service in Greene County and I am happy that we were able to make this happen. Dr. Holcomb will start seeing patients in mid-January — if you would like to get your year off on the right foot, make an appointment with him by calling 386-2488.
Last but not least, on behalf of all of us at the medical center, I want to acknowledge all that retiring physician Dr. Steve Karber has done for our medical center and our community. We thank him for the patient-centered care he has given so many of you during his career in Greene County.
Thank you for choosing Greene County Medical Center with many of your health care needs. We take our vision Always Here, Always Caring seriously. When it comes to your health care, we want to provide it for you close to home. Thank you for supporting your medical center.
Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
