Medical Center Moment - July 2015
Thank you to all who attended our public tours on Saturday, July 11. What a wonderful success! Between the employee tours, public tours and a special guest tour, almost 500 people went through the new space. Everyone agreed that the private patient rooms, private pre- and post-surgery rooms, the expanded areas for many of our outpatient services and the emergency room will indeed provide quality and safe patient-centered care.
Our expected move-in date is set for the last few days in August, which means we’ll be providing that patient-centered care in the new expansion by the start of September. When that occurs, renovation of the space vacated by departments will begin immediately. We’ll be sure to keep the public well informed on what’s where and how to get there. Rest assured, patient care in all service areas will not be interrupted during the many transitions that will take place.
On August 4, the new Greene County Medical Center Oncology/Hematology clinic will get started with Dr. Matthew Hill and staff scheduled to be in Jefferson twice a month. Dr. Hill will be seeing patients and offering chemotherapy infusions at the medical center. Chemotherapy is a new service to the medical center — and Jefferson — and I am confident it will ease the travel burden of many cancer patients who currently have to leave town for these treatments.
Also in August we welcome pulmonology/sleep medicine specialist Dr. James Meyer, who is affiliated with UnityPoint Clinic — Pulmonology in Fort Dodge. Dr. Meyer will be available every 4 weeks. He will work with our care management and respiratory team for sleep studies in our two new sleep study rooms.
Our efforts continue to be focused on providing and enhancing the services that will meet your health care needs here in your community.
Thank you for choosing us and thank you for supporting your medical center.
Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
