Wow — what a quick May.
It’s fun to share with our community members the successes and milestones of our employees. And we’ve had several lately.
Two long-standing employee retirements have taken or are taking place. In late March, David Sayre, who worked at the medical center for 44 years, retired as director of our environmental services department. Next, Amy Becker, director of our nutritional services department, is set to retire on Friday, June 2, after 28 years at the medical center. Both David and Amy served the medical center with real dedication to the patients and residents we care for.
The spring 2017 DAISY Award went to Kasey Greteman, RN in our acute care since 2015. Kasey was nominated by Becky Wolf, director of public health — but the circumstances had Becky nominating Kasey not as a co-worker, but as the nurse who cared for Becky’s father shortly before he passed. The recent DAISY ceremony honored eight nominees. All were deserving of their nomination, as all provide great patient- or resident-centered care.
Lori Sayre, assistant director of nutritional services, was recently named Iowa Certified Dietary Manager of the Year at the Iowa Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professional’s annual meeting.
Also in May, we recognized employees during National Hospital Week, National Nurses Week and National Nursing Home Week.
Milestones, awards and recognitions demonstrate the commitment our employees have to their work and the communities we serve.
The commitment of our employees is one way we can achieve our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve — providing the best care to every patient, every time. All of us here at the medical center are Always Here, Always Caring.
Thank you for your support and for entrusting us with your care.
Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
