Medical Center Moment - November 2014

by -

I hope you noticed the new look to our logo above.  The board of trustees voted at their November 20 meeting to move forward with this enhanced logo.  They follow other UnityPoint Health rural affiliates such as Guthrie County and Clark County who have made similar decisions with logo identity.

Our affiliation goes back to 1988 and is centered on providing quality comprehensive health care to those we serve.  The community should be proud that UnityPoint Health has chosen to be affiliated with Greene County Medical Center as much as we are proud to be affiliated with them.  We both are committed to improving the health of our communities – in our communities.

I invite you all to drive out to the medical center and see how the expansion project is coming along.  It really is incredible and speaks volumes of the commitment the medical center has toward the communities we serve.

It’s not just our commitment though — it’s yours too.  The participation in the “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign reminds us that this is your medical center.  With your support and use, it will be so for decades to come.  Thanks for your continued support.

As I write this, the Foundation is in the midst of their Tree of Life program.  It is heartwarming to see how many community members purchase an ornament for this tree in memory of a loved one.  The tree is on display in the main lobby until the Tree of Life ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, at 4 p.m. in our cafeteria.  All are invited to this touching memorial event.

Also in the lobby — until the bidding ends at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3 — you’ll find over 40 trees, wreaths and other holiday decorations.  It is a festive place to visit right now and I encourage you to do so.

All of us at the medical center understand that you have a choice when it comes to your health care. You can choose to go many places for many services. We want to make sure you can choose care and treatments close to where you live — here at Greene County Medical Center.

Thank you for choosing us and thank you for supporting your medical center.

Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
