Medical Center Moment - October 2014
Whether it is the large pieces of steel being erected, the underground utilities, the new steel studs on the south wall or the purple exterior sheathing, the flurry of activity on the east end of our campus is constant.
With all the rain in August and September, we appear to be about 60 days behind schedule. However, we are optimistic that we will be able to make up some of those days in the next few months. You can check out our September construction timelapse video on our website and facebook page now.
Our hospitalist program, which began on September 2, is positively impacting the delivery of care for our hospital patients. This 24/7 availability of a physician is all about offering patient-centered, coordinated care.
For over 25 years, our Public Health department has offered home care services to hundreds of clients, but for over a year now they have been working closely with UnityPoint at Home. We want our clients to have the best care and resources available – and UnityPoint at Home can and is willing to offer this in Greene County.
The official transfer of home care services to UnityPoint at Home is now taking place. I commend the leadership of Becky Wolf and her staff for making this transition one that provides our clients with the best possible care options.
Enhancing the care we provide, working with those who can help us enhance services and strengthening our partnerships with those who share our goals is our #1 priority. It’s how we can offer you the very best care for years to come.
Finally, I’ll be out in the county for a second round of “Coffee with Carl” events. The first one is scheduled in Jefferson on Thursday, October 30, at 7:30 a.m. at the Greene County Community Center. Please join me for this informal time to update the community on all that is happening here.
All of us at the medical center understand that you have a choice when it comes to health care. We want to make sure you have health care choices close to where you live — here at Greene County Medical Center.
Thank you for choosing Greene County Medical Center for your health care needs.
Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
