Medical Center Moment - September 2014

by -

Just like clockwork, the long Labor Day weekend came and went and we are already into mid-September.  With football season underway, we can all appreciate being on a team that is focused on the same goal.

The medical center has a lot on the field right now.  And we are working hard at meeting our goal of providing excellent care for our all patients.

One way we’re meeting that goal is through our new hospitalist program, which successfully launched on September 2.  By now, I hope you’ve seen our news release or ads about this program.  The hospitalist program improves coordinated care for our inpatients — when a physician is available on campus around-the-clock, it’s easy to see the difference this will make for our inpatients during their hospital stay.

The rain has impacted the work on our building project, but if you drive by the medical center now you’ll see we’ve gone vertical with steel beams visible.  Our August construction timelapse video is available on our website now.  And remember you can follow the progress on a weekly basis by liking us on Facebook.

October will prove to be another big month for us — mark your calendar for the Long Term Care Open House on Wednesday, October 1, where we will be showing off the refinished Activity Room where our residents spend time together participating in many fun activities.  Then on Saturday, October 11, our outpatient services departments will host a “Pamper Yourself Saturday” for women of all ages.  This event highlights October as National Breast Cancer Awareness month and National Physical Therapy month.  And Saturday, October 18, is the medical center Auxiliary’s annual Table Talk event at Clover Hall.  Talk to Shelly Berger in administration if you would like to host a table with your friends and family.

All of us at the medical center remain committed to our goal — providing excellent care for all our patients.  We realize you have a choice in health care and we appreciate that you choose Greene County Medical Center.  Thank you.

Always Here, Always Caring,
Carl Behne, CEO
