On Saturday, May 16, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., the medical center will be hooking up electrical systems between the current facility and the new expansion area.

The updates will result in limited power for approximately 7-8 hours on Saturday. Residents, patients and their visitors may notice power shortages throughout the morning. However, extra measures will be taken to ensure all needed medical care can take place, including emergency services.

Plant operations staff, under the direction of director Steve Hagen, spent much of this week preparing and testing electrical systems for Saturday’s updates. All preparations and tests were successful with no electrical downtime in the medical center. Hagen stated, “I anticipate Saturday’s updates will go smoothly and there will be no lapse in the services we provide.”

Additional staff will be on hand Saturday to ensure that all resident and patient care areas function as needed while emergency power sources are operating.
