Valerie Martin is an advanced registered nurse practitioner.  She sees women of all ages for gynecology and other women's health issues.

Valerie is available at Greene County Medical Center weekly Monday - Friday for clinic hours.  Appointments can be made by calling 515-386-2488.

Women's Health Services

  • Annual exams and testing: head to toe exam, pap smear, cultures, mammogram and wellness labs
  • Menopause management and hormone therapy: treatment of hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and low libido
  • Treatment of abnormal pap smears: including colposcopy, endocervical curettage, interpretation of pathology results and cryotherapy
  • Management of abnormal bleeding: performing endometrial biopsy and interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound and pathology results
  • Testing and treatment of pelvic pain: exam, ultrasound, cultures and medications
  • Urinary incontinence: medications and physical therapy
  • Sexually transmitted infections: blood testing, cultures and treatment options
  • Vaginal infections: testing and treatment
  • Breast disorders: exam, diagnostic testing and treatment
  • Contraceptive management: including insertion and removal of an intrauterine device or Nexplanon, pills, patch, Nuva Ring or Depo Provera
  • Limited infertility diagnosis and management: workup including cultures, endometrial biopsy, progesterone levels for ovulation testing, interpretation of semen analysis, referral for hysterosalpinogram and treatment with Clomid
  • Pregnancy testing: diagnosis of pregnancy and referral to OB services
  • Preconceptual counseling: evaluation of current health conditions and medications
  • Pelvic prolapse: evaluation, treatment with a pessary, or referral to surgery provider as needed
  • Urinary tract infections: testing and treatment
  • Sports and college physicals: exam, screening eye exam, medication and contraceptive needs
  • Work physicals: exam and employer required testing
    Pre-op history and physical: exam and pre-op lab work
