A Salad Luncheon with a Side of Community Spirit

Auxiliary Salad Luncheon

JEFFERSON, Iowa – Mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 22, and bring your appetite. The Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary is getting ready to serve up one of the community’s most anticipated fall traditions at their annual salad luncheon.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Elks Lodge, enjoy an impressive variety of fresh, homemade salads while catching up with friends, neighbors and members of the Auxiliary. Dine-in and take-out options make it easy to enjoy the luncheon your way.

But this luncheon is about much more than what is on the plate. “It’s an opportunity to provide some sunshine,” says Auxiliary President, Joyce Kurth, describing the spirit behind the Auxiliary’s volunteer work and community service.

This is a delicious way to support the work of the Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary and, ultimately, the patients, families and Team Members. The Auxiliary has a long history of turning community generosity into meaningful support. From helping provide equipment and programs to awarding scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare and providing free coffee to staff and visitors alike, the Auxiliary is living up to their mission of giving back to the people the medical center serves.

And if last year is any indication, this is one luncheon you won’t want to miss. The Auxiliary’s annual report called the return of the salad luncheon a “major milestone” and noted that the event was a huge hit, generating more than $3,800.

There is something special about communities gathering around a shared table. And something even more special about knowing your lunch is helping strengthen local health care.

So, grab a friend, invite a neighbor, round up your co-workers or make it a family tradition. Come hungry. Leave inspired. And know that every bite helps give back.

Tickets are available now at the Gift Garden or from any Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary member. Walk-ins are also welcome.
