As the Foundation Director for Greene County Medical Center, I am fortunate to see the very best of our communities every day. When I think about the year-end giving season, I don’t see numbers on a spreadsheet; I see the faces of your family, your neighbors and your friends.
For those of us working in rural healthcare, every gift is a tangible reminder of why we say we are Always Here, Always Caring. When I walk through the halls, I see your support at work in the peace of mind for a mother who doesn’t have to drive hours for her child’s care or the comfort a senior finds in receiving specialized services from a team they know and trust, right here in Jefferson.
This year, our ongoing Greene Backer annual campaign has an especially critical goal: supporting the acquisition and installation of our new state-of-the-art MRI machine, a project with a nearly $2.2 million scope. An MRI provides high-definition diagnostic images crucial for treating everything from sports injuries to serious illnesses. Right now, we rely on a mobile unit that visits the medical center a couple of times a week. Your donation will help bring this life-saving service to patients daily, providing them with faster results, more comfort and the ability to receive essential, cutting-edge care when they need it most, without leaving Greene County. Becoming a Greene Backer is as easy as logging on to gcmchealth.com/foundation, texting GREENEBACKER to 4144 or contacting me, Nancy Houska, by phone at 515-386-0108 or by email at nancy.houska@gcmchealth.com.
I want to share my deepest, most heartfelt gratitude because your commitment to giving is more than just a donation. It is the pulse of our region’s health. Your year-end generosity gives us the power to truly invest in you. It allows us to bring in life-saving technology, support scholarships that keep our bright young people local and expand specialized care, from wound treatment to critical behavioral health services. These gifts bridge the gap between good care and the truly great, local care our patients receive at Greene County Medical Center.
It is the simple act of looking after one another, whether you give $5 or $5,000, that builds the strong foundation of health and well-being we all rely on. Thank you for making our medical center a beacon of hope and compassion. We are proud to be your partners in health, and we look forward to serving you throughout the new year.
Wishing you all a healthy and happy holiday season,
Nancy Houska
